At least one Indian national was killed in a missile and drone strike that targeted the Kuwait International Airport, prompting New Delhi to issue a strong condemnation. The incident occurred amid ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States in West Asia.

According to reports, at least 63 individuals, including airport employees and passengers, were injured during the attack. The Kuwait Ministry of Health confirmed that several patients received treatment for serious injuries such as head wounds, cerebral hemorrhages, amputations, and blast-related trauma. Twenty-five ambulances responded to the site to assist in medical operations.

Regional Tensions Rise Amid Hostilities

The attack on Kuwait's infrastructure follows renewed hostilities between Iran and US forces. The US military carried out strikes against an Iranian facility on Qeshm Island, while intercepting unmanned drones launched towards civilian vessels in nearby waters.

Iranian authorities blamed the strike on the Revolutionary Guards, who claimed retaliation for US actions, targeting facilities like Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait and Bahrain. The attacks have caused significant disruption to transportation infrastructure, with temporary flight suspensions at the airport and diplomatic premises damaged.

New Delhi's Ministry of External Affairs stated that civilian populations must not be targeted during conflicts. "Our Embassy is providing all necessary assistance," a ministry official said, adding that India remains in close contact with local authorities for the welfare of its nationals across the region.

Indian Missions and Posts are on high alert to support their communities effectively during this volatile period. This incident underscores the increasing risk to civilian infrastructure and global security amid heightened regional tensions.
