On Tuesday, local Congress leaders in Hanamkonda organized a peaceful candlelight march to protest against the central government, specifically targeting Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The demonstrators demanded his resignation following widespread allegations of irregularities and paper leaks in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
This demonstration was part of a larger, nationwide initiative titled “Chhatron Ki Goonj”, a campaign spearheaded by Rahul Gandhi. The objective of the movement is to voice significant concerns regarding the integrity and reliability of major national competitive examinations. Participants argued that the current examination processes have lost credibility, causing undue stress to thousands of students across the country.

The event was orchestrated under the specific guidance of the All India Congress Committee and the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee. The protest was led by Inagala Venkatram Reddy, who serves as the president of the Hanamkonda District Congress Committee. The procession commenced at Ambedkar Junction and concluded at the Mahatma Gandhi statue located at Public Garden.
A notable presence of party leadership and supporters marked the march, including Warangal MP Kadiyam Kavya, MLA K.R. Nagaraju, and former mayor Gundu Sudharani.
