Among the group of 383 Assistant Engineers and 18 Assistant Accounts Officers gathered for the ceremony, one recruit stood out due to her advanced stage of pregnancy. Akshayalakshmi, who is in her 40th week of pregnancy, faced significant physical difficulty navigating the stairs to reach the stage where the appointment orders were being presented by the Chief Minister.

Recognizing the recruit's struggle, C. Joseph Vijay immediately opted to bypass the rigid established protocol for the ceremony. Rather than requiring the expectant mother to complete the climb, the Chief Minister stepped down from the dais and walked directly to where she was seated. He personally handed the appointment document to Akshayalakshmi, ensuring she did not have to undergo the strenuous task of reaching the stage.
This gesture by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister was met with widespread appreciation from those in attendance at the Kalaivanar Arangam.
