The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued warnings for heavy rainfall across nine states in the coming days, spanning from April 14 to 18. The weather authorities have advised farmers and residents alike to prepare for potential strong winds, dust storms, thunderstorms, and hail.
States Affected by Rainfall
The IMD has issued specific alerts for Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. The weather forecast predicts intermittent rainfall in these regions, with the possibility of strong gusts of 50 to 55 kilometers per hour being recorded.
Some districts within these states may also experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and hail. Farmers have been advised to take particular caution during this period to protect their crops from potential damage.
Conditions in Uttarakhand
The weather in Uttarakhand is expected to remain dry for the next two days, but a change may be observed starting Thursday. According to the IMD, there's a possibility of rain accompanied by thunderstorms in Pithoragarh, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, and Bageshwar starting April 16.
Elsewhere in Uttar Pradesh, several districts are preparing for intense heat conditions. The Meteorological Department has warned that severe heat is expected in Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Aligarh, Ghaziabad, Saharanpur, Shamli, Agra, Mathura, Hathras, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, and Jaunpur starting April 14.
The temperature is expected to rise significantly in these districts by as much as 6 degrees Celsius over the coming days. People are advised to remain vigilant during this period.
