Ultraviolette Automotive, the leading innovator in high-performance electric two-wheelers for India, is gearing up to launch its most anticipated product – the Ultraviolette Tesseract. The company has officially announced that the scooter will hit the market on January 2027, with deliveries kicking off this month due to significant customer feedback and technical enhancements.
Originally slated for a release in 2026, the launch was postponed to better cater to user needs. Over a period of several months, Ultraviolette organized roadshows in multiple cities across India, collecting extensive customer insights. These valuable inputs led to notable improvements in terms of design and comfort, ensuring a more user-friendly riding experience for both the rider and pillion passenger.
Design & Comfort Enhancements
The biggest overhaul focuses on interior comfort. Following feedback from customers, the company has widened the seating area and incorporated premium foam with higher density to enhance seat comfort. Additionally, a re-designed footrest ensures better ground clearance for shorter riders in urban traffic conditions, contributing significantly to ease of use.
Beyond aesthetics, the Tesseract introduces India's first 100V architecture, marking a pivotal change to electric scooter technology. This innovative setup improves thermal management and boosts power output, promising faster accelerations and longer driving ranges. The company claims this will render the Tesseract three times more powerful than its predecessors.
Technical Advancements
The heart of the Tesseract pulsates with a 15kW electric motor, setting new benchmarks for speed in the Indian market. With this powertrain, customers can look forward to reaching high speeds of up to 125 km/h, which is ideal for highway cruising and long-distance commuting.
In terms of safety, the Tesseract delivers with a suite of advanced features. It includes Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), traction control systems to maintain grip on turns, and a state-of-the-art Radar-based Assistance system. These technologies aim to minimize blind spot issues and enhance overall ride security for users.
Ultraviolette's commitment to sustainability is highlighted through its Battery Management System, which has been drastically miniaturized while retaining superior range capabilities. The new BMS weighs just 2.5 kg, offering substantial performance enhancements without adding weight to the scooter.
For diverse customer segments, Ultraviolette offers three distinct battery pack options: a 3.5kWh model for everyday use, a 4kWh variant with balanced features, and a high-capacity 6kWh version for longer trips. Priced aggressively at ₹1.45 lakh EX-Showroom, this is poised to be one of the most affordable yet powerful options available in India.
