The PM-VBRY program, which officially commenced on August 1, 2025, represents a substantial investment in the nation's human capital, featuring a total financial outlay of ₹99,446 crore. The primary objective is to incentivize the generation of more than 3.5 crore new jobs within a two-year timeframe. This ambitious project seeks to ensure that the ongoing economic expansion results in sustainable, high-quality formal employment, particularly for the country's youth. Under the structure of this Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, both employers and employees stand to benefit. First-time workforce entrants are eligible to receive incentives reaching up to ₹15,000. Simultaneously, organizations that successfully generate additional employment opportunities can claim incentives of up to ₹3,000 per month for every new hire. The government has structured these benefits to be long-term: manufacturing firms can access these incentives for a duration of four years, while businesses in other sectors are eligible for support over a two-year period.
According to updates from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the scheme has already been instrumental in facilitating the creation of 15 lakh employment opportunities nationwide. Officials anticipate that approximately 1.92 crore beneficiaries will be first-time participants in the organized workforce.
