As the Modi government continues to provide multifaceted financial assistance to India's farmers, a critical update has emerged around the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) scheme. The essential PM Kisan update emphasizes that all beneficiaries must complete their annual e-KYC process by June 30 via either the PM Kisan app or Jan Seva Kendra to avoid missing out on government disbursed assistance.

Biometric & Facial e-KYC: Simplifying Processes for Farmers

Eligible farmers have two main options for completing their e-KYC:

  • Biometric e-KYC: Farmers can visit any Jan Seva Kendra and complete the process using their fingerprint or thumb impression, provided they have an Aadhaar card and a mobile number linked to it.
  • Facial e-KYC: For those more comfortable staying home, farmers can perform this on their mobile phones through the PM Kisan app. The process involves scanning one's face to verify identity.

The last installment of 22nd transfer under the PM Kisan scheme saw a massive ₹18,640 crore being credited into accounts of over 9 crore farmers, highlighting the significant financial support provided by the government. Farmers eagerly await another round for their much-needed monetary incentives.

Those eligible and yet to finish e-KYC should act promptly as the next PM Kisan installment may see a slowdown in disbursal if deadlines are missed. Non-compliance will directly impact the next tranche, with no instalments provided until the process is completed.
