During a recent public gathering in Nalgonda, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy launched a scathing critique of the BRS Party, asserting that the political organization has no future in the state. A Revanth Reddy claimed that the citizens of Telangana have collectively and permanently socially boycotted the family of former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, leaving the opposition with little political relevance.
Future of the BRS Party and State Development
Addressing the attendees, the Chief Minister emphasized his administration’s commitment to the Musi River rejuvenation project, declaring that the initiative will proceed despite any opposition. He also expressed confidence that the SLBC project would be successfully finalized before the upcoming Assembly elections. In a direct challenge to the opposition, Reddy invited the BRS to engage in a formal debate to compare their decade of governance against the two-and-a-half years of the current Congress administration, alongside the 12-year tenure of the BJP at the central level.
The Chief Minister dismissed the BRS Party's internal claims of wanting to return to power. He stated that the desire for their return is limited solely to the family itself rather than the broader electorate. He further alleged that the party has been reduced to dwelling on the past, as there are no viable leadership positions waiting for them in the future political landscape of Telangana.
Providing an overview of the current government's fiscal focus, Reddy highlighted that over ₹1.50 lakh crore has been channeled toward supporting farmers. These efforts include the implementation of a farm loan waiver, the Rythu Bharosa scheme, and various other agricultural welfare programs. He noted that the state government has managed to procure 80 lakh tons of paddy during the current year, illustrating the administration’s focus on rural economic stability.
Infrastructure and Accountability
The Chief Minister issued a stern warning regarding the Musi River cleanup, stating that individuals attempting to obstruct the rejuvenation process will face strict consequences. He explained that pollution in the river has caused significant health crises, including limb and eye deformities among children in Nalgonda. Addressing past governance, Reddy accused the previous regime of unethical practices, including unauthorized phone tapping that invaded the privacy of citizens.
Furthermore, he countered allegations regarding the Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL). Reddy characterized the claims of financial irregularities as baseless, pointing out that the allegations were made despite no tenders having been invited for the coal miner operations. The Chief Minister concluded his address by reaffirming his government's resolve to continue its development agenda and maintain accountability in state affairs.
