The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has initiated a significant organisational reshuffle within its Uttar Pradesh unit, unveiling a revamped team of office bearers. This strategic move, announced on Thursday, aims to bolster the party's operational efficiency and grassroots influence in preparation for the upcoming 2027 assembly elections.
According to the official list released by the state party president, Pankaj Chaudhary, the restructuring involves major changes, including the replacement of all six regional presidents. The new lineup features 19 vice presidents, eight general secretaries, and 19 state ministers who have been inducted into the official party hierarchy.
Strengthening Organisational Structure for 2027
The extensive exercise followed intensive deliberations between the BJP central leadership, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and prominent state-level leaders. The leadership is focused on creating a more robust framework to navigate the political challenges ahead, particularly with rival parties emphasizing their own social coalitions. By reconfiguring the team, the party aims to broaden its social outreach and enhance the effectiveness of its existing organisational machinery.
The newly appointed vice presidents include notable figures such as Suresh Rana, Satyapal Saini, Priyanka Rawat, Archana Mishra, Pooja Pal, Suresh Maurya, and Rajesh Yadav. Meanwhile, the roles of general secretaries have been filled by Ram Pratap Singh Chauhan, Geeta Shakya, Abhijat Mishra, Upendra Rawat, Sanjay Rai, Shankar Lodhi, Dilip Patel, and Rajesh Chaudhary.
Regional Leadership and Communications Revamp
The regional leadership overhaul is comprehensive, with new appointments made for all six zones. Nawab Singh Nagar is the new regional president for west Uttar Pradesh, followed by Puran Lal Lodhi for Braj, Ram Kishore Sahu for Kanpur, Avadhesh Dwivedi for Awadh, Ashok Chaurasia for Kashi, and Vinod Rai for Gorakhpur. In the communications department, Manish Dixit continues his tenure as the state media coordinator for the fourth consecutive term, highlighting the party’s stability in key information roles. Dinesh Pratap Singh has been designated as the chief spokesperson, while Himanshu Raj Pandit takes over as the state social media coordinator.
