Congress Intensifies Special Intensive Revision Campaign in Warangal Amid Roll Scrutiny

The Congress party has launched a proactive special intensive revision (SIR) campaign in Warangal, aiming to ensure the integrity of electoral rolls across the region. This strategic initiative saw active participation from key leaders, including Telangana state in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan and PCC president Bomma Mahesh Kumar Goud, who addressed a crucial awareness session for Booth Level Agents (BLA).

During the event, Meenakshi Natarajan emphasized the importance of grassroots vigilance, urging party workers to actively monitor the voter registration process. She expressed concerns regarding potential attempts to manipulate electoral records by selectively removing or retaining names, pledging that the party would strictly oppose any such irregularities during the special intensive revision (SIR) exercise.

Building on these concerns, Bomma Mahesh Kumar Goud voiced his suspicion that the Election Commission of India is facing undue political pressure, which could threaten the fairness of the upcoming voter roll updates. The importance of this campaign was further highlighted during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who conducted a targeted awareness program for legislators. Reports indicate that the Chief Minister expressed dissatisfaction regarding the participation levels of some MLAs and has since mandated a more robust outreach effort. Legislators representing the erstwhile Warangal district have been instructed to mobilize ground-level workers, with party leadership signaling that their performance will be evaluated based on their commitment to this special intensive revision (SIR) campaign.

Local authorities are simultaneously ramping up their preparations to manage the special intensive revision (SIR) process. District administrations have organized workshops to guide the public on essential procedures, such as new voter registration, correcting existing details, and verifying enrollment data. These measures also include specialized orientation sessions for media representatives to ensure accurate information reaches the public.

District collector B.H. Sahadeva Rao, representing Mulugu, reiterated the administration's commitment to conducting the exercise with maximum transparency. He stressed that the primary objective is to maintain an inclusive voter list and prevent the exclusion of any eligible citizen. As the special intensive revision (SIR) exercise progresses, both political entities and government officials remain focused on additions and deletions to ensure the rolls are ready for future electoral events.
