He noted that the newly appointed KPCC leadership had issued an appeal to party workers and leaders to abstain from spending excessive funds on traditional displays of welcome, such as elaborate garlands, bouquets, or large banners. Instead, the leadership suggested that these resources should be redirected toward the construction of Congress party office buildings.

Highlighting the impact of this simple decision, Ivan D'Souza mentioned that he had opted out of putting up any welcome banners for that day’s program. By choosing this approach, he successfully diverted Rs 20,000 to the party's development fund in honor of the KPCC president. He further remarked to the crowd that he could have easily spent approximately Rs 1 lakh on typical publicity and banners for the occasion but decided that this contribution held greater long-term value for the organization.
