In a significant move to overhaul the state's educational landscape, the government has announced the launch of Telangana Public School (TPS) across every Assembly constituency. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy unveiled the initiative, aiming to provide high-quality education and professional sports training to students, ultimately cultivating future leaders and athletes. This initiative, centered on Telangana Public School development, signifies a major push to modernize infrastructure and deliver international-standard learning environments to public school students.

The inauguration of the pilot Telangana Public School took place at Arutla village, located in the Manchala mandal of Rangareddy district. During the event, A. Revanth Reddy emphasized that the future of the state relies on the quality of its classrooms rather than superficial aesthetics. By dedicating the school to the broader student body, the government seeks to set a high benchmark for educational reform, ensuring that public institutions remain competitive against corporate-run facilities.

Revitalizing Public Education and Infrastructure

The state has demonstrated a strong commitment to this mission, dedicating approximately Rs 27,000 crore—nearly 8.5 percent of the state’s total budget—to the education sector. This investment facilitates the provision of essential resources such as breakfast, nutritious mid-day meals, high-quality uniforms, and educational kits for pupils. With 1,814 students already enrolled at the Arutla campus, the high demand for admissions underscores the perceived value of these new Telangana Public School facilities.

A. Revanth Reddy noted that many prominent figures, including former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao and himself, were products of the public education system, serving as inspiration for current students to aim for positions like IAS and IPS officers. To further support student development, the government is also establishing the Young India Integrated Residential Schools to promote inclusivity, alongside the Young India Skills University and Young India Sports University.

These institutions are designed to nurture athletic talent, with a specific focus on producing Olympic medalists. The Chief Minister dismissed criticisms from political rivals, specifically addressing allegations regarding the procurement of student supplies. He labeled claims of financial irregularities as baseless, pointing out the discrepancy between the alleged scam amounts and the actual tender values of approximately Rs 650 to Rs 685 crore. The administration remains focused on strengthening these academic frameworks to benefit families across the region.
