R.V. Deshpande, a senior Congress leader and MLA, met Karnataka's outgoing Chief Minister, Mr. Siddaramaiah, at his official residence in Bengaluru on Wednesday. This meeting came following an earlier discussion between the two leaders where Deshpande was told that Siddaramaiah has made a firm decision to resign from his post as Chief Minister, effective either tomorrow or on Friday.
The decision stems from a commitment made by Siddaramaiah during a recent meeting with party high command in New Delhi. "Siddaramaiah stated he is committed to the high command to resign and will abide by it," said Deshpande. Moreover, another Congress MLA, Ashok Pattan, announced that Siddaramaiah would most likely quit on Thursday after 3 PM, indicating an unexpected move from a seasoned political leader.
