The incident has triggered a sharp backlash from several major political organizations, including the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Congress, and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), all of whom have condemned the statement as derogatory toward the people of Punjab.
The core of the Punjab uproar stems from accusations that Jatinder Pal Malhotra used disparaging language, specifically labeling Punjabis as “emotional bloody fools.” This characterization has been widely criticized by opposition leaders as an insult to the dignity and heritage of the entire Punjabi community. In response to the alleged slur, members of the AAP organized a protest in Chandigarh on Friday, attempting to surround the local BJP office.
