The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), a youth-led political organization, has officially received authorization from the Delhi Police to conduct a protest at Jantar Mantar on June 20. This demonstration is set to focus on the ongoing NEET paper leak controversy and broader concerns regarding systemic examination failures. The movement continues to advocate for the immediate resignation of the Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, citing a lack of government accountability.
Demands for Accountability and Transparency
Spokesperson Saurav Das announced that the gathering will include students, parents, educators, and concerned citizens from across the country. The coalition aims to highlight issues such as examination irregularities, the integrity of competitive testing processes, and the rising number of student suicides linked to these crises. By organizing at a prominent location like Jantar Mantar, the CJP hopes to compel the government to address these urgent national concerns through a transparent and public dialogue.
Prior to the upcoming event, another spokesperson, Ashutosh Ranka, reported alarming statistics regarding the impact of the crisis. According to CJP reports, 11 students have tragically died by suicide since the NEET paper leak first emerged. The organization is now calling for a compensation of Rs 1 crore to be provided to each of the families affected by these losses. Ranka emphasized that the continued tenure of Dharmendra Pradhan in light of these events is a point of significant contention.
Protest Against Examination Irregularities
The Cockroach Janta Party has reported a series of recent tragedies, citing five student deaths within a 48-hour window across various locations, including Alwar, Sikar, Dehradun, Coimbatore, and Ahmedabad. The movement has characterized these incidents as a national emergency, prompting them to intensify their call for official responses. While the organization maintains that it is willing to participate in constructive discussions with government authorities, it has expressed deep frustration over the current lack of outreach.
Founder Abhijeet Dipke has previously highlighted the possibility of an indefinite sit-in if the movement's core demands regarding educational reform and accountability are not addressed by the administration. As the June 20 protest approaches, the CJP continues its advocacy for students currently preparing for various examinations, while maintaining its firm stance that administrative changes in the education ministry are necessary to restore public trust in the examination system.
