  • Commercial cylinders cost between ₹2,031.0 to ₹2,278.5 across selected major cities

The recent ceasefire in the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran has had significant implications for global crude oil supplies. Prior to the ceasefire, disruptions in these critical supply lines led to an increase in LPG cylinder prices across various regions, notably in domestic and commercial sectors.

Impact of Ceasefire on Oil Supply

The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz by Iran is expected to ease crude oil imports significantly. This development has prompted adjustments to LPG cylinder prices following a two-week ceasefire period, with local authorities and commercial establishments witnessing heightened operational costs due to price hikes.

As announced recently, the Central Government in India has lifted the prices of both domestic and commercial LPG cylinders. Specifically, after an initial hike of 60 rupees in March for standard 14.2-kilogram domestic cylinders, no further changes have been observed. In contrast, commercial cylinders saw a more pronounced increase with a rise of approximately 200 rupees on April 1.

Price Variations Across Cities

In New Delhi, a 14.2-kilogram domestic cylinder currently sells for ₹913.0, while a commercial cylinder is priced at ₹2,078.5. Similarly, in Mumbai, the price of a domestic cylinder stands at ₹912.5, and a commercial one costs ₹2,031.0.

In Kolkata, a domestic cylinder sells for ₹939.0, while commercial cylinders are trending at ₹2,208.5. For Chennai, the price of a cooking gas cylinder is recorded at ₹928.5, and a commercial cylinder stands at ₹2,246.5. In Bengaluru, the rate for a cooking gas cylinder is ₹915.5, whereas the commercial cylinder sells for ₹2,161.0.

Further down in Fatehabad, a domestic cylinder is priced at ₹942.0, and its commercial counterpart appears to be trending at ₹2,157.5. These price adjustments underscore the ongoing fluctuation and local pricing variations observed across these cities due to supply chain disruptions.
