In a significant move to support the agricultural community during the current Kharif season, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has issued directives to ensure the seamless provision of seven specific fine paddy seed varieties at subsidized rates. This initiative is designed to bolster farmers who are actively engaged in cultivating fine paddy, a move reinforced by the government's commitment to offering bonuses for these crops.
Ensuring Seed Availability and Transparent Distribution
To prevent any potential shortage of essential resources, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of stocking these seeds directly at Rythu Vedikas. Furthermore, authorities have been instructed to conduct a thorough mapping of farmers who are producing these fine paddy varieties. This process will enable the agriculture department to maintain a precise and comprehensive database regarding acreage and anticipated yield projections.
In addition to seed management, the administration is prioritizing efficiency in fertilizer logistics. A Revanth Reddy has ordered the implementation of an app-based booking mechanism for all types of fertilizers. Under this streamlined framework, farmers who finalize their urea requirements via the mobile application will receive their supplies through local Rythu Vedikas. To ensure accountability, the responsibility for managing urea distribution has been assigned to district additional collectors.
Comprehensive Agricultural Planning and Monitoring
During a high-level review meeting focused on the state's agricultural department, the Chief Minister highlighted the necessity of a structured, end-to-end action plan. This strategy must encompass every critical stage of the agricultural cycle, starting from the initial seed distribution and extending to the eventual procurement of the harvested produce. The primary goal of this initiative is to mitigate challenges for farmers at any point during their production and sales journey.
The government plans to maintain real-time, accurate data concerning the farming community, specific crops being sown, production estimates, and overall procurement operations. This data-driven approach aims to create a transparent system that remains active from the sowing period through to the final completion of grain purchases.
The strategic review meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials and ministers, including Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, along with ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao and Duddilla Sridhar Babu. Key administrative leaders such as Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, CMO Principal Secretary V. Sheshadri, Agriculture Secretary Surendra Mohan, and Civil Supplies Commissioner Stephen Ravindra were also present to discuss the operational rollout of these agricultural measures.
