  • Raids have uncovered assets worth Rs 13.05 crore, including numerous properties, cash, gold, and silver.

The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has initiated an investigation into Narahari Rao, a Deputy Director in the Department of Survey and Land Records, following the discovery of significant disproportionate assets. The authorities are currently preparing to open bank lockers registered under the name of Rao’s wife, a move expected to reveal additional hidden wealth and further solidify the ongoing case against the official.

Following a series of coordinated raids across several locations linked to Narahari Rao and his associates, the ACB has already uncovered a substantial collection of properties and financial assets. The official was presented before a special court dedicated to ACB cases, which subsequently ordered him into 14 days of judicial custody this past Wednesday. The probe was launched after reports suggested that the official had accumulated wealth far exceeding his legitimate income through corrupt practices.

Extensive Asset Seizure by Telangana ACB

During the exhaustive search operations, investigators documented an array of high-value immovable and movable assets. These include five open plots situated in Ranga Reddy District, approximately 1.24 acres of agricultural land in Maheshwaram, and several luxury residential flats in high-rise complexes located in Puppalaguda, Narsingi, and Rajendra Nagar. Furthermore, officials identified a multi-story building in the TNGOs Colony of Gachibowli, alongside another residential structure in Chatrinaka.

The financial findings were equally significant, with investigators seizing cash amounting to approximately Rs 1.54 crore. The ACB also discovered bank balances totaling Rs 2.29 crore, fixed deposits worth Rs 5.04 crore, as well as 1.3 kg of gold ornaments and 8 kg of silver. The total valuation of the assets identified thus far stands at an estimated Rs 13.05 crore. However, authorities believe that the current market value of these real estate holdings is likely substantially higher than the documented values.

As the investigation deepens, the ACB remains focused on tracing the full extent of the disproportionate assets. The upcoming inspection of the lockers held by Rao’s wife is a critical step in the procedure, as investigators work to verify whether more assets were concealed from public record. Additional verification of the official's financial history and property ownership remains ongoing as the bureau continues its efforts to hold the public servant accountable for alleged corruption.
