The academic landscape in Andhra Pradesh is set to evolve with the upcoming launch of the Sricity International University. This new establishment, formed under the Andhra Pradesh Private Universities Act, seeks to bridge the gap between traditional learning and modern industry demands.

Innovative Educational Models at Sricity International University

A defining characteristic of the Sricity International University approach is its commitment to the Work-Study Dual Model. This unique framework is designed to immerse students in professional environments from their very first year. By alternating between rigorous classroom academic sessions and practical workplace training, students are expected to graduate with over two years of tangible industry experience. To support this transition into the workforce, the program offers a minimum monthly stipend of Rs 10,000 for participants.

The university is launching its academic offerings for the 2026-27 session with four distinct undergraduate degree paths: BTech in Computer Science and Engineering, BTech in Manufacturing, BBA in Finance and Accounting, and BBA in Digital Marketing and Communication. According to the institution, the curriculum will follow an expanded 48-week academic calendar, significantly longer than the conventional 30-week structure, ensuring that internships remain a core, integrated component of the student journey rather than an afterthought.

Integrating Artificial Intelligence into Higher Education

Embracing the shift toward a digital-first economy, the Sricity International University has embedded Artificial Intelligence (AI) directly into its foundational operations. Rather than treating AI as a standalone subject, the university aims to use it as a pervasive, practical tool across all disciplines. Students will utilize AI-based platforms starting from their first day on campus, applying these technologies to industry-driven projects, academic assessments, and complex workplace challenges.

Prior to the official unveiling, the university hosted a strategic brainstorming session titled ‘Higher Education in the AI Era: Relevance of the Work-Study Dual Model and Stakeholder Perspectives.’ This gathering brought together a wide array of participants, including academic leaders, school principals, and parents, to evaluate the long-term impact of this model. Prof. K. Nagabhushan Raju, the pro-vice-chancellor of the university, emphasized that this structure is intended to equip graduates with a balanced profile of deep theoretical knowledge and immediately applicable professional skills. With the guidance of academic planners like G. Vijay Kumar, the university aims to set a new standard for job-readiness in the higher education sector.
