The district-level celebration, themed “Two Years of Trust – Development and Welfare,” highlighted the administration's ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and improve the quality of life for residents in North Andhra.
State Home Minister and Vizianagaram district in-charge, Vangalapudi Anitha, underscored that the coalition government has taken proactive steps to curb substance abuse since taking office. A specialized unit, the Eagle Team, was established specifically to combat the narcotics menace. The government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy toward drug trafficking, with warnings that those involved will face severe legal consequences, including criminal charges and the seizure of personal assets.
Driving Economic Growth and Employment in North Andhra
Beyond security and anti-drug measures, the event served as a platform to showcase recent achievements in regional economic development. Vangalapudi Anitha noted that nearly 10,000 young individuals in the district have successfully secured jobs through various state-sponsored job fairs. Several major projects are currently in the pipeline to further boost employment, including the development of a Google Data Centre and the ambitious Bhogapuram International Airport.
