Shivakumar received various suggestions aimed at commemorating the historical figure’s contributions to urban planning and civic development.

One of the most notable suggestions brought before the Chief Minister is the declaration of a government holiday on Kempegowda Jayanthi. If implemented, this move would provide citizens with a dedicated day to recognize the founder's influence on the growth and character of Bengaluru. Discussions also touched upon the broader goal of establishing Nadaprabhu Kempegowda as the official cultural icon of the city, highlighting his enduring importance to the region.

Expanding the Legacy of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda

To further preserve the history and vision of the city's founder, officials are considering several infrastructure and academic projects. D.K. Shivakumar has announced plans for a Town Planning College to be named after Kempegowda. Preliminary work for this institution is already underway within the campus of Visvesvaraya Technological University. Additionally, a new theme park dedicated to the founder near the Kempegowda International Airport in Devanahalli has been completed, with an inauguration ceremony being coordinated by Minister of Bengaluru Development Krishna Byre Gowda.

The list of proposals submitted at the meeting is extensive and reflects a desire to integrate the memory of Kempegowda into daily civic life. Among these suggestions are the construction of an international park, the creation of a community hall, and the establishment of a dedicated museum. There are also calls for the development of Kempegowda Bhavans in every district and a concerted effort to clean and rejuvenate the lakes of Bengaluru in his honor. Furthermore, advocates have requested the development of the founder's burial site, spanning 10 acres, and the formal inclusion of his life history in school textbooks.
