This extension is designed to provide fair opportunities for students who recently cleared their Intermediate supplementary examinations to apply for undergraduate programs.
Infrastructure and Defence Advancements
In the defence sector, Drogo Aerospace Pvt Ltd, based in Hyderabad, has reached a key milestone by delivering the first batch of 41 JK 250e drones to the Indian Army. This delivery is part of a substantial 72-crore contract for a total of 217 units, with the remaining 176 drones scheduled for completion by August 2026. These unmanned aerial systems, capable of three hours of flight time, are intended for critical surveillance and reconnaissance operations.
Yeshwanth Bonthu, founder and CEO of Drogo Aerospace, noted that this milestone highlights the company’s manufacturing capacity and its commitment to national security. To support growing demand, the company is developing a new, 1-lakh-square-foot facility at the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Maheshwaram. The project, supported by a 4.5-acre land allocation from the Telangana government, is projected to generate approximately 500 new jobs in the region.
Education and Public Health Updates
Meanwhile, the Telangana Teacher Eligibility Test (TGTET) 2026 has commenced across the state. With over 1.5 lakh candidates registered, the examination is being conducted at 61 computer-based centers spread across 16 districts. TGTET convener G. Ramesh confirmed that all necessary arrangements are in place for the 10-session examination process, which concludes on June 22. Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts are hosting the highest number of candidates.
In a separate development, the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) in Hyderabad has issued a formal appeal to NGOs, public representatives, and media personnel. The hospital has requested that these groups refrain from visiting a 12-year-old sexual assault victim currently receiving treatment. The institution emphasized that this restriction is vital for the patient’s emotional well-being, recovery, and privacy, while also ensuring the continued smooth operation of the intensive care unit for all critically ill patients.
