The commissioner of police, Dr. Shankha Batra Bagchi, formally issued the restrictive order under Rule 24 of the Drone Rules, 2021. The mandatory no-drone zone enforcement will remain active starting from 9 a.m. on June 29 and will conclude at 2 p.m. on July 1. The designated perimeter for this restriction spans a 12-kilometer radius, stretching from the Visakhapatnam Airport all the way to the Hotel Novotel located on Beach Road.

Authorities have emphasized that these strict prohibitions are essential for public safety and the prevention of any potential security threats while the head of state carries out official duties. Police officials have issued a clear warning to all residents, commercial drone operators, independent photographers, and professional UAV service providers. Any individual discovered operating a drone or unmanned aircraft within the prohibited airspace will face immediate legal consequences under the stringent provisions of the Aircraft Act, 1934.
