The two victims, identified as Brijesh and Akhilesh, reportedly slipped into the 40-foot deep sewage pumping wet well. While a third worker was successfully rescued from the site and is currently receiving medical treatment, the search for the other two men has been complex and challenging. Emergency services, including the Fire and Emergency Services and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), are currently spearheading the recovery efforts.
The BWSSB has formally announced that the search operation has been significantly hampered by a severe buildup of toxic gases and the strong current within the well. The management has mandated that this committee submit its findings to the BWSSB Chairperson, Dr. Manjula, by Saturday at 12:00 PM.
