Tragic Suspicious Death Case Reported Involving Family in Srikakulam District
A tragic suspicious death case involves a mother and two children found on railway tracks in Srikakulam. Simultaneously, local authorities are handling a separate corruption arrest involving a GVMC official and the search for a constable missing in the Godavari River.

Tragic news has emerged from Srikakulam district, where a family suffered a devastating loss under suspicious circumstances. Three members of the same family—a mother and her two children—were discovered dead on the railway tracks located between Palasa and Talabhadra. This incident has sparked a thorough investigation into the events leading up to this heartbreaking suspicious death case.
The victims have been identified as Gedela Poojitha, along with her young son Kushant and daughter Deekshita. The trio were residents of the Chalamayapeta area in the Kotabommali mandal. According to information provided by their relatives, Gedela Poojitha had been married for approximately eight years to her husband, Venkata Rao, who worked as an electrician.
Ongoing Investigation into Suspicious Deaths
Family members of the deceased have levelled serious allegations against Venkata Rao and his relatives, claiming that he suffered from an addiction to alcohol and frequently harassed his wife. Furthermore, it was alleged that Pooja faced persistent mental cruelty from her in-laws. Based on these claims, the relatives have expressed strong doubts regarding the official cause of death, suggesting that these could be cases of murder rather than accidents. The local railway police have transported the bodies to the Palasa government hospital to conduct post-mortems and gather further evidence.
In a separate but concerning development, another incident involving a government employee has come to light. A tax collector with the GVMC, identified as M. Srinu, was apprehended by the Anti-Corruption Bureau. Officials caught him red-handed while he was allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹30,000 from a complainant, Karakana Prasanna Kumar. The bribe was reportedly requested in exchange for facilitating the processing of pension bills and other benefits for the complainant’s aunt, Vennu Chinnathalli. The accused official is currently facing legal proceedings.
Missing Constable Incident
Authorities are also managing a separate crisis involving a police constable from the Third Battalion in Kakinada, Chadramalla Vamsi, who is feared to have jumped into the Godavari River. Prior to the incident, the 32-year-old reportedly contacted his father, Venkata Rao, to express his intent to end his life from the Road-cum-Rail Bridge. While emergency search operations have been initiated, the situation is believed to be linked to significant personal distress involving a former relationship with a woman constable. Local law enforcement is continuing to investigate both these distressing situations to determine the underlying causes.
