A tragic event initially mistaken for an unfortunate accident at Lohagad Fort near Pune has been unmasked as a calculated murder. Authorities uncovered the sinister plot after noticing a suspicious wardrobe choice captured on camera: a man wearing a thick, heavy hoodie despite the intense 33-degree Celsius summer heat. This detail proved to be the pivotal clue in the death of Ketan Agarwal, a young director of a prominent real estate firm.
Investigations revealed that Ketan Agarwal had been engaged to Siya Goyal, a bakery owner, since February 2026, with wedding plans underway. However, evidence suggested that Siya Goyal had been maintaining a secret, long-term romantic relationship with Chetan Babulal Choudhary, a dry fruit merchant, since November 2025. Driven by the desire to eliminate the hurdle that Ketan Agarwal represented, the duo spent months meticulously planning the crime, exchanging over 2,004 phone calls amounting to 238 hours of coordination.
Unraveling the Pune Murder Case Conspiracy
The criminal conspiracy against Ketan Agarwal was multi-faceted. The suspects first attempted to disrupt his life by hiding his passport at the airport to derail a scheduled pre-wedding photoshoot in Bali. When that failed to deter their target, they attempted to cause his death at Lohagad Fort on June 14. During that encounter, Siya Goyal allegedly tried to push the victim off a cliff, but he managed to secure his safety by clutching onto a bush. She reportedly attempted to cover her tracks by fabricating a story about a snake.
The final attempt occurred on June 18 at the same location, where the perpetrators successfully pushed Ketan Agarwal into a deep gorge. Investigative teams relied on technical analysis and CCTV footage to link Siya Goyal and Chetan Babulal Choudhary to the crime. Surveillance cameras recorded the couple arriving at the fort, shadowed by a man wearing shorts, a headset, and a heavy hoodie. This hooded accomplice was seen ducking to avoid detection whenever Siya Goyal glanced back.
Following the discovery of the body, the lack of genuine sorrow shown by Siya Goyal became a major point of suspicion for the family of Ketan Agarwal and local investigators. Despite posting emotional, performative tributes on social media after the news broke, she and Chetan Babulal Choudhary were eventually arrested. They now face serious charges of murder and criminal conspiracy for their actions in this chilling Pune murder case.
