Hyderabad, Jun 2 - The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has announced the inaugural TG20 Player Auction for Telangana's first-ever franchise-based T20 league, scheduled for June 7, 2026. The event will take place at the Princess Convention Centre in Ramoji Film City and marks a significant milestone in cricket history.
Key Figures and Teams
The auction includes an impressive player pool led by international stars Mohammed Siraj and Tilak Varma, as well as local talent like Rohit Rayudu, Rahul Buddhi, CV Milind, Tanmay Agarwal, Aaron George, and emerging players from recent Vinoo Mankad Trophy squads. HCA aims to build balanced franchises with a minimum of four district cricketers in each team, highlighting TG20's commitment to nurturing grassroots talent.
Eight participating franchises are:Hyderabad e-Champions, Pranava Ranga Reddy Risers, Warangal Warriors, Medak Falcons, Anurag Nalgonda Knights, Karimnagar Diamonds, Palamuru Strikers, and Anvita Khammam Aces. Each franchise starts with a budget of ₹60 lakh and will spend at least ₹54 lakh to build competitive squads.
Ambati Rayudu, HCA's Cricket Operations Committee member, led extensive try-outs that generated substantial interest among local cricket aspirants. Renowned auctioneer Charu Sharma will oversee the proceedings, ensuring professionalism and excitement in the bidding process.
