Vijayawada: In a significant push towards youth empowerment, Telugu Desam national working president and education minister N. Lokesh has called upon the younger generation to join politics.
Lokesh emphasized that young leaders should aspire to rise through party ranks, noting his own journey as an inspiration. During interactions with "Gen Z" at the TD headquarters in Vijayawada, he echoed his "Yuvagalam" padayatra, highlighting the importance of resilience and commitment despite challenges.
"Developing A Fighting Spirit"
Recalling his 2019 defeat and subsequent victory with a margin of 91,000 votes in 2024, Lokesh said, "One's initial experiences should not deter them from entering politics." He stressed the need for young individuals to build resilience and forge ahead with unwavering commitment.
The minister also highlighted the ongoing efforts by the Andhra Pradesh government towards promoting sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), quantum technologies, and other emerging industries. By developing a cluster-based industrial system that includes technology-driven fields, the government aims to foster an environment conducive to youth engagement.
"Life is not always straightforward," Lokesh remarked, echoing his own experiences. He reassured students, stating that academic setbacks should not define one's future. The government, he said, will provide support and guidance in education and employment opportunities.
Lokesh further emphasized the importance of skill development aligned with industrial requirements and highlighted the commitment to attracting substantial investment, including from major companies like Google, ArcelorMittal, and Reliance, into the state.
Focus on Infrastructure and Women's Empowerment
Addressing socio-economic challenges, Lokesh reiterated the development of infrastructure and the promotion of collective efforts towards ensuring 33% reservation for women. He encouraged women to take an active role in shaping the future from both societal and governmental levels.
Moreover, Lokesh warned against fake content on social media platforms, particularly related to allegations around DSC exams, advocating for transparency and caution among young voters.
