At a recent gathering in Hyderabad, the Telangana BJP president, N. Ramchander Rao, issued a direct appeal to the youth, urging Gen Z to actively join nationalist forces. During the NaMo GenZ Conclave held on Tuesday, Rao emphasized the importance of adopting a "nation first" mindset, suggesting that upcoming delimitation processes will create unprecedented leadership roles for younger generations.
The call to action was framed as a "dharma yuddha" against opposing political ideologies. Rao argued that the youth of India are fundamentally aligned with principles of development, democracy, and nationalism, asserting that Gen Z supporters are backing the vision championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure national progress and local development in Telangana.
Promoting Youth Opportunities and Career Diversity
Beyond political messaging, Rao encouraged young attendees to broaden their career horizons. He advised against succumbing to familial or social pressures, suggesting that students explore diverse fields including law, arts, commerce, and vocational training, rather than focusing solely on engineering. He highlighted government-led initiatives like Start-Up India, Stand-Up India, Skill India, and MUDRA as vital components of an ecosystem designed to transition young people from job seekers into job creators.
Reflecting on administrative performance since 2014, the Telangana BJP president detailed significant improvements in the higher education and employment landscape. He pointed to the increase in medical colleges, MBBS seats, and the expansion of IITs and IIITs. According to Rao, these structural changes, combined with financial support through the Vidya Lakshmi loan program, have contributed to a reduction in the unemployment rate from approximately 6 percent down to 3.1 percent.
Addressing State Governance and Political Discourse
The event also featured criticism of the current state leadership. Rao directly challenged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy regarding the status of pending commitments, specifically questioning the timeline for a "job calendar," the status of fee reimbursements, and the delivery of unemployment allowances. He accused the current Congress government, along with the previous BRS administration, of failing to prioritize youth welfare by allegedly focusing on commissions and contracts instead.
Supporting these sentiments, BJP legislature party leader A. Maheshwar Reddy observed that cultural nationalism has seen a widespread revival. He noted that since Prime Minister Modi took office, younger individuals are more open about expressing their religious traditions. The conclave was attended by several prominent party figures, including Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajender, legislators Palvai Harish Babu and C. Anji Reddy, and BJYM state president Ganesh Kunde.
