The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has officially submitted its preliminary inquiry report regarding allegations of financial mismanagement concerning donations made to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The document was handed over to the Uttar Pradesh state government on Tuesday, marking a significant step in the ongoing probe.

Officials confirmed that while this initial report is now with the government, the broader investigation remains active as authorities continue to gather and verify additional evidence related to the case.
Ongoing Probe into Ram Temple Donation Allegations
The state government had established the Special Investigation Team on June 13, following a formal request from the temple trust. The move was prompted by serious public and political allegations suggesting that funds donated for the construction of the Ram Temple were subject to misappropriation. The current Ram Temple donation probe is being conducted with strict confidentiality, and officials have not yet disclosed specific findings to the public.
Addressing the media following the submission, Vijay Vishwas Pant stated that the team intends to finalize its comprehensive report within the next 10 to 15 days. He emphasized that the document presented on Tuesday represents only the initial phase of the investigation. As the Ram Temple donation probe continues, the investigative team remains prepared to conduct further site visits to Ayodhya should the collection of evidence require it.
The matter gained significant public attention after Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav raised concerns on June 7. He cited reports indicating that large sums of money offered by devotees were unaccounted for. Akhilesh Yadav had urged judicial intervention in the case and called for daily status updates on the investigation, expressing concern over the erosion of public trust regarding the transparency of financial dealings under the current state administration.
As the Special Investigation Team moves forward, the focus remains on meticulously reviewing all financial transactions linked to the temple donations. With the final report expected in roughly two weeks, the state government and the public await conclusive findings that will clarify the validity of the corruption claims surrounding this high-profile religious project.
