Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has launched a sharp rebuttal against the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), dismissing recent accusations leveled against the ruling Congress government as entirely baseless. Speaking during the inauguration of the newly established Telangana Public School (TPS) in Arutla village, located in the Ranga Reddy district, the Chief Minister addressed various points of contention raised by the political opposition.

The Chief Minister specifically defended his administration’s efforts to promote sports and education within the state. He recalled the visit of football icon Lionel Messi to Hyderabad last year, an event that became a significant point of criticism from political rivals. A Revanth Reddy expressed his disappointment that the opposition would choose to target a program designed to inspire students from marginalized backgrounds, such as SC, ST, and minority social welfare residential schools, by giving them the rare opportunity to interact with a global sports legend.

Addressing Allegations and Educational Reform

Regarding financial transparency, the Chief Minister dismissed claims of irregularities surrounding government tenders. While the administration called for tenders worth Rs 685 crore to procure essential items for social welfare schools, opposition leaders alleged a massive Rs 3,000 crore corruption scandal. A Revanth Reddy termed these allegations as illogical, questioning how such an inflated figure could be associated with a smaller tender process.

The state government has placed a high priority on the education sector, allocating approximately Rs 27,000 crore, which accounts for 8.50 per cent of the total state budget. The Chief Minister emphasized that government schools should be seen as centers of excellence, pointing out that esteemed figures like former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao were products of the state-run school system. The new Telangana Public School initiative, which aims to provide quality education from nursery to 12th standard, is a cornerstone of this vision, designed to rival top-tier corporate educational institutions.

Furthermore, the government is committed to fostering social harmony through initiatives like Young India Integrated Residential Schools, where students from all walks of life will learn under a unified roof. Alongside these, plans are underway to establish the Young India Skills University and the Young India Sports University. The Chief Minister concluded by reiterating that the state’s focus remains firmly on providing high-quality infrastructure and learning opportunities for the underprivileged, dismissing the opposition's negative narrative as a political tactic that would ultimately fail to resonate with the public.
