Maruti Victoris CNG: Mileage Champion SUV Offers Premium Features and Efficiency

The Maruti Victoris CNG is quickly making a name for itself in the highly competitive Indian SUV market. As drivers look for cost-effective alternatives to rising fuel expenses, this vehicle has gained significant traction. Combining a spacious interior with safety features and impressive efficiency, the Maruti Victoris CNG has become a top choice for many families across the country.

Since its official introduction in September 2025, the Maruti Victoris CNG has seen remarkable sales performance, with over 89,291 units sold within the domestic market. The S-CNG variant, in particular, accounts for 45 percent of the model's total sales, underscoring a major shift in consumer preference toward eco-friendly, budget-conscious automotive solutions.

Advanced Features and Performance of the Maruti Victoris CNG

A common misconception about vehicles running on compressed natural gas is that they suffer from diminished power. However, the Maruti Victoris CNG challenges this notion by utilizing the reliable 1.5-liter K15C four-cylinder petrol engine. When operating in CNG mode, the engine generates 88 PS of power and 121 Nm of torque. For those who need more output, switching to petrol mode increases the power to 101 PS and 137 Nm of torque. The SUV is equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox, focusing on driving control.

One of the most notable engineering achievements is the integration of a segment-first underfloor CNG tank. By placing the cylinder beneath the vehicle, Maruti Suzuki has managed to preserve essential luggage capacity in the boot, a feature often compromised in other CNG-equipped models. Furthermore, the vehicle offers an impressive fuel efficiency rating of 27.02 km/kg, making it a standout in terms of long-term operational savings.

Pricing and Market Accessibility

Accessibility for the average middle-class buyer is a priority for the manufacturer. With current pricing ranging from ₹11.50 lakh to ₹14.72 lakh (ex-showroom), the vehicle remains a competitive option in the mid-size SUV segment. To further assist potential buyers, several financial institutions are facilitating ownership through attractive loan schemes, with interest rates starting as low as 7.60% per annum, subject to the individual's CIBIL score.

The overall success of this model aligns with a broader trend reported by Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer of Marketing and Sales at Maruti Suzuki. The company achieved a historic milestone in April, selling 76,348 CNG vehicles in a single month. This indicates that currently, one out of every four vehicles sold by the manufacturer is a CNG model. Facing rivals such as the Grand Vitara CNG and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG, the Maruti Victoris CNG leverages its unique cabin layout and modern aesthetics to maintain its edge in the market.
