Indian Railways is set to introduce a new train service connecting Purulia with Anand Vihar, Delhi, significantly reducing travel time for passengers in West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh.

As part of this initiative, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the 14021/14022 Purulia–Anand Vihar Express in Purulia on March 14th. This special express train will traverse Varanasi, Ayodhya, and Lucknow, making its journey direct and convenient for passengers traveling from Purulia to Delhi.

Senior DCM Bikash Kumar of Adra Division shared the key details of the upcoming train service, stating that the 14021/14022 Purulia–Anand Vihar Express will operate from Purulia station on every Friday. It will run until 11:10 PM the following day, arriving at the Delhi terminal.

The 14022 Anand Vihar–Purulia Express will depart from Anand Vihar at around 5 AM every Thursday, reaching Purulia by 10:40 AM of the next day. The new service not only simplifies travel for Purulia residents but also contributes to regional economic growth and religious tourism.

The new train service eliminates the need for passengers to change trains in other cities, making the journey from Purulia to Delhi smoother and more direct.
