The primary reason for this is that repeated cleaning of vehicle windshields, particularly with abrasive cloths or cleaners, can damage the electronic chip embedded within the FASTag. Additionally, constant exposure to harsh weather conditions and prolonged use reduce the life span of both the internal chip and adhesive layer, making proper scanning more difficult at toll plazas.
