The Congress party has intensified its organizational efforts, specifically training Booth-Level Agents (BLA-2) to actively monitor and prevent the deletion of voter names. This initiative comes in response to concerns regarding the current Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, which party leaders fear could lead to a significant loss of their support base.
Addressing Concerns Over Voter Deletions
Party officials emphasized that comprehensive awareness and training programs are currently being held to equip BLA-2 workers with the necessary skills to scrutinize voter lists. These agents are tasked with identifying unauthorized deletions and facilitating the restoration of names belonging to party sympathizers. During a recent gathering in Mancherial, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka stressed the importance of this mission, urging the party cadre to remain vigilant.
Bhatti Vikramarka characterized the Special Intensive Revision as a major irregularity within the national electoral process. He instructed the BLA-2 teams to utilize information from family members' registered entries to help reinstate any names that may have been incorrectly removed from the rolls. The Congress alleges that this ongoing process threatens the integrity of the electoral system and has leveled accusations against the BJP, claiming manipulation of voter databases in regions where the party currently holds power.
Strengthening Party Presence Through Local Action
Beyond the efforts in Mancherial, the District Congress Committee in Adilabad has also conducted similar training sessions. DCC president Naresh Jadhav highlighted that these initiatives are vital for protecting voter registration and reinforcing the party's foundation at the grassroots level. BLA-2 workers are conducting thorough verifications of deleted or unmapped votes while simultaneously reviewing the backgrounds of affected individuals to ensure electoral fairness.
The party has signaled that these efforts are part of a broader strategy, with the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) planning to organize additional training programs in the near future. By closely monitoring additions, deletions, and modifications in the electoral rolls during the Special Intensive Revision, the Congress aims to safeguard its electoral base and address the broader systemic concerns they have raised regarding current voter list management.
