Union Minister of State Bandi Sanjay Kumar has recently highlighted how the collaborative approach of the Telangana state government is instrumental in securing increased central funding for regional development projects. According to the minister, this spirit of cooperation, involving Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, has been a catalyst for accelerating rural road infrastructure improvements within his constituency.
During an official visit to Mamidipally in the Sircilla region, Bandi Sanjay Kumar disclosed that he has successfully secured Rs 22,000 crore in central grants. A significant portion of this investment, approximately Rs 10,000 crore, has been directed toward various road projects located within the Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency. The minister emphasized that this progress was achieved through constructive coordination with local Congress legislators.
Infrastructure Progress and Governance Challenges
While laying the foundation stone for the Vemulawada–Sirikonda road-widening project alongside government whip Adi Srinivas, the minister underscored the necessity of federal and state synergy. Bandi Sanjay Kumar asserted that development flourishes only when both levels of government work in unison, noting that Telangana faced significant developmental obstacles during the previous administration. He credited the current state government's willingness to engage for effectively unlocking these vital central funds.
However, the visit also brought to light ongoing logistical challenges in the region. The minister’s own convoy faced delays on the Karimnagar–Sircilla main road on Saturday after a vehicle became lodged in a substantial pothole. This incident highlighted the deteriorating condition of local thoroughfares, which have become increasingly problematic following recent bouts of heavy rainfall.
Addressing these infrastructure concerns, Bandi Sanjay Kumar directly contacted the district collector to express his dissatisfaction regarding persistent waterlogging on the Bavupeta stretch. Local residents have frequently reported that their grievances regarding road maintenance have historically been ignored. Responding to these community complaints, the minister demanded immediate temporary relief measures to ensure road safety and traffic flow, while simultaneously insisting on the development of a comprehensive, permanent engineering solution to prevent future water stagnation and structural damage.
