Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has ordered a three-member probe committee into the ammonia gas leak.
Over 20 people were affected, with seven currently receiving treatment in the ICU at Government Stanley Medical College Hospital.
The NDRF 4th Battalion deployed a specialized CBRN response team to manage the hazardous site.
The investigative committee is mandated to submit an interim report within 24 hours.
