A tipper lorry carrying soil crashed into a bus stop in Neeleswaram, Kollam.
At least three fatalities have been confirmed by local police following the collision.
Several individuals were trapped under a pile of soil after the lorry lost control.
Emergency rescue operations are currently underway to check for any remaining victims at the site.
