The Telangana Waqf Board has sanctioned Rs. 1 crore for Muharram observances.
Financial aid was distributed to 959 institutions including ashoorkhanas and sabeels.
The current grant amount is double the Rs. 50 lakh provided in the previous year.
An additional Rs. 15 lakh was allocated for the historic Bibi-ka-Alam procession elephant.
