Customs officials seized 2.271 kg of 24-carat gold at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
The contraband, valued at ₹3.36 crore, was smuggled in a paste form inside clothing.
Two passengers arriving from Kuala Lumpur were apprehended in connection with the smuggling attempt.
A formal investigation is currently underway to identify any larger smuggling network involved.
