Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated the largest organic spice processing plant in Meghalaya's Ri-Bhoi district.
The facility features an investment of Rs 32 crore and can process 10,000 metric tonnes of spices annually.
It is the first unit in the Northeast certified under NPOP and EU organic standards for global export.
The project aims to uplift 5,500 local organic farmers through better market linkages and value addition.
