Michael Edwards has officially resigned as CEO of football for Fenway Sports Group.
His departure follows an impasse regarding FSG's stalled plans to adopt a multi-club ownership model.
FSG president Mike Gordon will resume direct oversight of all football operations moving forward.
Sporting director Richard Hughes is also expected to leave for a role in the Saudi Pro League.
