Indian Railways has approved a ₹270 crore investment for the Kavach safety system in the East Coast Railway zone.
The project covers 631 route kilometres across six key rail sections in Odisha and surrounding areas.
Kavach is an indigenous automatic train protection system designed to prevent collisions, over-speeding, and SPAD.
The rollout utilizes an LTE-based communication backbone to improve operational safety and train punctuality.
