Two people died after their SUV crashed into a school prayer hall in Pasir Puteh.
Police suspect the 41-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle because he fell asleep.
The vehicle was carrying six relatives from Machang to Kota Bharu when the accident occurred.
Four other passengers sustained serious injuries and were treated at a local hospital.
