An elderly couple, Anam and Sangita Mishra, were found dead in their Puri district home.
Local police arrived at the scene after being alerted by neighbors and family members on Saturday.
Preliminary investigations by authorities are treating the deaths as a suspected case of suicide.
The couple's son has been detained by the police for formal questioning regarding the incident.
