District Transport Officer Venkanna died in a fatal road accident while on duty.
The incident occurred on the Parakala–Bhupalpally highway during a routine vehicle check.
The official was struck and killed by a speeding coal-laden tipper lorry.
The driver of the tipper has been taken into custody for investigation.
