A 67-year-old man, Karunakaran David, sat for the NEET-UG medical entrance exam in Hyderabad.
This was the candidate's second attempt at the exam, as there is no upper age limit for NEET-UG.
The aspirant was previously unable to pursue medicine after returning to India from Yemen due to lack of a domicile certificate.
The man, who works in the Central government sector, was motivated by his mother's long-held wish for him to become a doctor.
