A criminal case has been registered against Krishnalanka CI Nagaraju following the disappearance of Gade Saikrishna from custody.
The accused Inspector has been placed under administrative suspension pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
Rajamahendravaram SP Narasimha Kishore has been tasked by the state government to conduct an independent probe into the matter.
The investigation will include high-level consultations with the Director-General of Police and the Vijayawada Police Commissioner.
