A devastating tragedy unfolded in Sangareddy district when 30-year-old Kalpana, a resident of Gangapur village, was identified as the prime suspect in the murder of her husband Muthyam Reddy. The police apprehended Kalpana alongside her accomplices Gaini Pandari and Gaini Vittal after a meticulous investigation.
Background and Investigation
Muthyam Reddy, 35, went missing on April 16, 2026. Initially, Kalpana filed a complaint with the police claiming her husband had gone missing. However, upon further investigation, it emerged that Kalpana was having an illicit relationship with Pandari from Elgoyi village in Manoor mandal.
When Reddy discovered this relationship and approached his wife numerous times asking her to end it, she did not comply. This strained marriage led to the tragic outcome where Pandari and Vittal were responsible for killing Muthyam Reddy on the morning of April 18, as he was passing through Narayankhed.
The duo pretended that repairs were needed at a borewell motor in Pandari's field, luring Reddy to his fate. Once they reached the designated spot, Vittal strangled him with a rope while Pandari kept watch. Later, they swiftly buried Muthyam Reddy's body using an earthmover they had arranged earlier.
The Narayankhed Inspector G Srinivas Reddy mentioned that Kalpana's behavior during the police interrogation appeared suspicious, leading to her arrest alongside Pandari and Vittal. During questioning, Pandari confessed to the murder after admitting his involvement with Kalpana.
