April usually sees mild temperatures, but recent weather patterns have taken a different turn. As the country grapples with unexpected rainfall in April, temperatures have dipped, prompting residents to don warmer clothes. The Meteorological Department predicts that Northwest, Central, and East India will experience varying degrees of relief from the severe weather, while Western UP, Delhi-NCR, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Kashmir continue to face challenging conditions.

An alert has been issued for heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms across Sikkim, Assam, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh. Over these next five days, winds can be expected to blow at speeds reaching up to 60 kilometers per hour in these regions, making travel hazardous. Meanwhile, Central India is poised for a gradual temperature rise of up to 4-6 degrees Celsius over the coming six days.

Delhi and Uttar Pradesh: A Mixture of Clouds and Sun

District weather forecasts indicate that Delhi's weather will remain stable in the upcoming week, with a mix of sunshine and clouds offering some respite from the heat. The mornings and evenings are expected to feel slightly chilly. For today, April 10, expect sunny skies with clear visibility. However, forecasters warn residents of a potential shift in mid-April due to another strong Western Disturbance.

Uttar Pradesh is anticipated to experience favorable changes starting by April 15 as the influence of another active weather system gradually wanes. People should stay alert for any unexpected weather volatility that may occur thereafter.

Bihar: A Cold Spell with Intermittent Storms

The past few days have seen strong storms and substantial rainfall in Bihar, causing temperatures to drop significantly, bringing back a distinct chill reminiscent of winter. The Western Disturbance is expected to subside over the coming weeks, but warnings for heavy rainfall remain. As per meteorological reports, between April 9 and 13, Araria, Purnia, Katihar, and Kishanganj districts are under a Yellow Alert for rain.

Similarly, Odisha faces a forecast of moderate to heavy rainfall on April 9 and 10 with strong winds (up to 30-50 km/h). Jammu and Kashmir is also at risk of snowfall combined with scattered showers. Lightning strikes are expected in Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura on April 10 and 11, while hailstorms and heavy rains could be witnessed in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Tripura, and Meghalaya until April 12.
